The dreaded “about me”. I was able to build this entire site in less time than it took to write this.
I could write a cliche response. Something about how I love capturing magical moments. That I want to tell a story, to document “lifestyles”. But I was always uncomfortable with manufacturing it, and even worse at charging for it. It has taken a long time to identify why it meant anything to me. Shooting film has helped that a lot.
I like light, we don’t pay enough attention to it, but cameras do. Less magic, more science.
And I am most at home in places I’ve never been. You’ll find a lot of that here. Me discovering something new, and occasionally reaching back into places I’ve been in an effort to find something different. Really into altering history lately.
And finally, a creative outlet. Something I was innately good at. Technology has always come easy to me. A simple way of expression, when I wasn’t really sure of what I wanted to express. I have found that a creative outlet is necessary in being able to work hard, and when you’re chasing down satisfaction. Small wins, like a roll of film coming in works wonders.
I’m not as cynical as this sounds. It’s weird to not use lols. I, and this site, are a work in progress.
Do you still do portrait photography?
Yes, I do still take a few select sessions as my schedule permits. $250/hr and unfortunately no newborns.
